Self-drive to the Boteti
A normal car or SUV is fine for the drive to the camp; you don't need a 4x4. Maun is about 1.5 hours away (140 km). Please don't drive after dark, as there is a lot of wildlife on the roads, and plan an overnight stop if you come from Gaborone. The camp is near Moreomaoto at GPS -20.344210, 24.329789; ask us for directions for the last stretch before you set off.
Into the park: the ferry across the Boteti
Naledi Camp is on the Boteti River, opposite the western side of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The camp is not on the salt pans; a safari in the Boteti area is different from a trip onto the salt pans.
Safaris enter the national park via the Xhumaga area. The river crossing and access route depend on water levels and local operating conditions. Confirm the route, travel time, park and vehicle fees and any ferry cost for your dates. Park fees are additional on both own-vehicle and camp-vehicle safaris.
Arrival and departure
Check-in is from 15:00, check-out until 10:00. Even on a one-night stay, lunch on arrival, dinner and breakfast before you leave are included. If you arrive late, tell us and we move lunch.
